Your mind is a very powerful tool. It is said that your brain carries out around 100 Trillion operations per second! That's a fantastic number! Some data shows that it could even be between 1013 and 1016! Unreal! Our brains are calculating so many different topics all at once. From the temperature, to hunger, to pain, as well as the past and future. It really is a remarkable organ. But I like the term 'tool'.
When our thoughts turn to civilization and how to succeed within it - our minds may play some strange games on us. It is important to recognize what those games are - and most importantly how to avoid/fix them.
Hunger Games
Did you know that as of March of 2011, there are are about 1,210 billionaires world-wide. And of those 164, about 2/3 of those people are self-made! (As opposed to inheritance) They had the mindset - and nothing was going to get in their way of success!
You see, everybody wants to have more money. And almost everybody would love to be incredibly wealthy. But so few of us actually make it. Why so? Luck? Yes, that may play a role in some cases - but the majority of the individuals who have become very successful in their life is due to the phrase 'mind over matter'.
There is usually a great deal of risk when you begin your new business or company. Some fields are riskier than others. Risk could refer to many things - probably the most referred to would be;
Risk of losing moneyRisk of embarrassment due to failure
In order to start something large, you must focus on the phrase 'mind over matter'. Your brain is trying to protect you from the lost off money and embarrassment due to failure. Why? Because your brain wants you to be happy. Your brain associates happiness with money and you are obviously not happy when you are embarrassed. Your mind tries to keep you in one spot - because if you don't move, you don't get hurt. So in a way, your mind is trying to protect you from this. This is a great feature to have - unless you are an entrepreneur and trying to start a business or large company. This nagging voice must be silenced.
Now that you know your mind is doing this, you must ask yourself which route you want to take. The path where you choose to mind over matter and start your business or company and grow a large business that is successful. Or the path where you chose not to place mind over matter, allowed your brain to keep you in one spot, never trying to go further in life, and growing old only wishing that you would have taken that chance - living in regret.
Don't do this for me - do this for you! You are the most important person in your life! Period!
